The sky shows Mother Nature is putting on lately.
I just can’t get enough of them.
A morning walk before the temperature started climbing.

A wonderful two-hour phone call with my Julie!!
Our eye doctor who is such a joy to visit.
My prescription has not changed much, thank you.
Mike home early from work and feeling a little bit better today.
Jesse stopping by to help us with the generator.

Today…
Waking up to an epic thunderstorm
Sitting outside, under the patio cover, just watching the show.
It went on for hours.
Sunday.
Paleo waffles, homemade pork sausage, and berries for breakfast.
Texting with my girls.
Power and air conditioning.
Researching the history of Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Listening to 70’s pop while editing photos.
Leftover Sausage and Kale soup for dinner.
And again, air conditioning.

Today…(Saturday 8-15-20)
Thoughts on my morning walk: no matter how crazy and messed up so many things are right now, we still have Mother Nature. Blue sky, trees, air, flowers, birds, animals, and more.
Power and air conditioning. Currently 104º and rising.
Making breakfast for me and MIke.
A great phone conversation with my boy. We talked about his work, their house, politics, or rather politicians, and found out we are both on the same episode of Yellowstone.
Logan’s birthday party at Jesse and Bri’s with just the families.

Getting to see and talk to other people in person.

Today…
Feeling extremely grateful that I do not have to work right now with this Pandemic still going on. The stress would just be too much for me, I’m sure.
Starting another Whole30.
Listening to a few podcasts today.
First, ‘The Power of a Morning Routine’ from Melissa Urban’s “Do the thing” podcast, while eating my breakfast.
Second, a Chase Jarvis podcast featuring photographer David Alan Harvey, while taking a two-mile walk in 80º weather. And I didn’t die.
Remembering how much I LOVE listening to stories and advice from photographers. Especially seasoned National Geographic photographers.
Editing photos while listening to Jason Aldean.
Playing with brush pens.
Trying a “Ground Meat with Stuff over Stuff” template for dinner. Ground beef, asparagus, onion, broccoli, over roasted potatoes.

Today…
The sun is coming up later and later.
Watching all the birds come in while watering this morning.
We had a whole family of Bluebirds eating mealworms at the patio table.
My Mammoth Sunflower is blooming. A little short but it’s perfect for photographing.
I found three different things I had been looking for over the last few weeks/months.
All because the garbage disposal broke. Silver linings.
Took an early morning trip to Walmart.
Then a late morning trip to Lowes.
The garbage disposal has been replaced. I am so grateful my husband is mechanically inclined.
Grateful to our new neighbors, who have spotted two fires in the creek behind our house before they got out of control.
Laundry done.
BLT’s for dinner.

Today…
Was a good day.
I got some chores done.
This afternoon we took an Intro to Kayaking class.
It was fun.
We learned a lot.
We played some games to teach us how to maneuver our kayaks.
Then we paddled down the San Joaquin river...
Against the wind and tide.
We visited the Dow Wetlands, just to rest a minute.
Then we paddled/got blown back to the marina.
We ordered pizza delivery for dinner, with our cocktails.
We are tired. Good night.

Slept in until 7 am.
Coffee on the patio with the birds and my journals.
Designated today a rest day.
We’ve got a new juvenile Mockingbird visiting.
Then talked to my Dr. CynCyn.
Gave myself a mani/pedi.
Talked to my Sister twice.
I painted today. Yes, my toenails and on paper with my watercolors.
Practicing painting birds.
Working on another rainbow plaid with brush pens.
Talked to my Melissa. So glad she is feeling better. She sounds better too.
Listening to country music while editing photos.
Chicken thighs, mushrooms, and broccoli for dinner.
